Meghan is a creative force and brand strategist, who earned her marketing degree from the L.I.M. College, in Manhattan. She spent some time preaching the gospel of Gonzo and building the merchandise infrastructure at Flying Dog— one of the largest independent craft breweries in the nation.

During her career at Flying Dog, Meghan created and managed countless brand collaborations, set the vision for numerous custom merchandise lines, and developed a highly profitable e-commerce platform from the ground up.

In her free time, she has a healthy obsession with dogs and sneakers.

ONE-OF-A-KIND POP CULTURE COLLAB

When the creative team at Flying Dog Brewery wanted to create a pop culture initiative to bring the iconic batwing logo to a whole new generation of beer drinkers, I spearheaded a partnership with Vans. Working tirelessly to create a collab shoe and digital campaign that reinvigorated the brand and earned vast social media awareness. 

The journey to create these rare (and highly collectible) shoes cost me a lot of sleepless nights. But they became a labor of love— and much like the beer, they are a work of art.

Working in conjunction with luxury bag company, The Treason Toting Company, I oversaw the creation of The Bootlegger, a high-end backpack with a beer cooler in the base. 

From a napkin sketch to an omnichannel product launch campaign, I worked closely with the team at Treason to ensure this bag would be a unique travel piece that reinforced Flying Dog’s reputation as an avant-garde craft brewery.

BUSTIN’ BOARDS

Flying Dog had a lot of friends (with benefits), and any chance to keep things local really put a strain on my zipper. 

So when I learned about Bustin’ Boards—a nearby Maryland skateboard company that specializes in innovative design— I knew a collaboration was inevitable. And just like that, the FLYING DOG + BUSTIN BAMBOO-X Modela 33 was born.

Only 20 of these bad boys were ever created, and each board was raffled off at a PR-heavy launch party, where proceeds were donated to EACH 1 / REACH 1, Bustin’s community skate initiative to benefit less-fortunate kids and adults.

Anytime you have a chance to work with world-famous artist Ralph Steadman, you jump at the opportunity. But when you’re a gambler at heart, and you have the chance to collaborate with Ralph Steadman on one-of-kind playing cards—well, you’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven.

Working in conjunction with high-end magician card company, The Art of Play, I oversaw the design and production of this limited edition Ralph Steadman deck, featuring unique original art pieces on every card.

For a brand with a rabid fan base like Flying Dog, it was incredibly important to consistently develop surprising, new packaging concepts to keep the brand feeling perpetually fresh.

I worked continuously with my team to dream up new packages that kept the merchandise feeling new and irresistible for our die-hard fans.

Every season, I was responsible for creative directing and sourcing all merchandise and marketing materials for Flying Dog Brewery. The goal was to create unique offerings that resonate with our consumer, while also bringing the brand attitude to life.

I take special pride in my development of custom pieces that required complex logistics to make happen.

Video content can prove to be an incredibly valuable weapon in a brand’s arsenal. At Flying Dog, I was heavily involved in video content creation, periodically working as a producer, writer, and costume designer.

From concept to shoot day, I was able to organize and execute video shoots, ironing out logistical details to ensure a memorable final product.

Starting from my days working for Vans and continuing ‘til today, I love to roll up my sleeves, break out the power tools, and let my creativity fly while building visual experiences that will amaze.

DIGITAL MARKETING & PROMOTIONS

When you run the merchandise division of a brewery, design and sourcing are only half the battle. Real success takes strategic planning and engaging digital marketing.

Each quarter, I planned digital marketing campaigns with the different goals for our webstore and on-premise retail space. At the end of each campaign I would grab a beer and dive deep into the analytics, to gather data for refining future campaign. In other words, computer stuff.
